I have recently read a Manhwa ( this is the general Korean term for comics) named : My ID is Gangnam Beauty

The Manhwa is about a girl named Kang Mirae. She has been told her whole life that she is ugly. She has felt like an outcast her entire life and was terribly bullied in her childhood. Partly because of this she decided to get plastic surgery before she started college. So that she would be able to lead a normal life and be able to have a romantic relationship. But her new life isn’t without it’s own difficulties she still has to deal with prejudices. The genre of this manhwa can be described as romantic and psychological. The Manhwa was also made into an Korean drama series named the same as the comic book.

I first read the Manhwa before watching the Korean drama. I like both the comic and the drama series. There are a few differences between the two . The progression of her romantic relationship is a bit slower in the Manhwa. I love watching and reading about History so you probably will find a lot of posts about historical movies, series , anime…. I recently watched a really good historical anime.

Historical anime named: In This Corner of the World

It’s set in Hiroshima during World War II, an eighteen-year-old girl gets married and now has to prepare food for her family despite the rationing and lack of supplies. As she struggles with the daily loss of life’s amenities she still has to maintain the will to live.

It’s a beautiful story about a girl who does everything she can to protect her family and herself in a war torn country. It’s beautifully animated with attention to color. It is both humorous and sad at the same time. I really recommend watching it.
